Roof-Snowslide

After months of cold and snow we had a few days of 30-40 degree weather... we have a tin roof (you can see the grooves in the underside of the snow) and the Roof-snowslides have begun!! I'm told that it is supposed to be below zero for a week now, so these glacier-like things should actually stay frozen like this for awhile...makes the walk to the outhouse kinda' unnerving. Dolores is feigning disaster here, but when these things let go they can seriously crush a person or damage a car.

Snow on Tikki Torch

I stare at this damn thing every day behind Dolores' Cabin. The physics of this has really been bugging me lately. (P.S. it got so warm the day after I took this photo that the snow that was on it for month fell off...the lesson??..shoot 'em if you got 'em)
