United States National Ice Core Laboratory, Denver, Colorado

Ice-cores collected from drill-sites all over the world, including Greenland and Antarctica are brought here to be processed and archived. It is -22 C in there! Cores are stored at -35 C.! Atmospheric carbon dioxide preserved in layers of ice deposited yearly in these cores help scientists to construct paleotemperature curves for the last million years or so. Note the Alaska Flag hanging from the ceiling !!

Hailstorm, Denver

We were hanging out the window of our room, getting pelted with hail and taking photos.
