The signage in Fairbanks never ceases to amaze me. Only in Alaska would you need to make up a BIG RED CARDBOARD SIGN that says this and put it on the FRONT DOOR of a bank. Seriously??? I guess the sign on the left just wasn't enough to get the point across. Oops...we forgot to mention your guns!??

Sam's Sourdough Cafe is Gone...

Fairbanks lost Sam's Sourdough Cafe to a fire yesterday. It doesn't look like much now but Sam's had the best breakfast in town and was Dolores and my favorite breakfast spot. Awesome staff, locals, and hashbrowns. We are so very sad. The first dollar that they ever made was on the wall to my right in the bottom photo. I went in to see if it survived the fire because I hate to see it gone. Thanks you guys for everything. Please rebuild. Fairbanks won't be the same without you.
