Dalton Highway II

The risks of motorcycling on the Haul Road, northern Alaska

Dalton Highway

The Dalton Highway, more commonly known in Alaska as "The Haul Road" is the only road heading north from Fairbanks-Alaska. The road is used primarily by truckers to re-supply the oil-towns of Deadhorse and Prudhoe Bay with food and materials during both summer and winter (although any adventurous traveler may try his/her luck) . Temperatures along the road can reach -60 F in winter. I found another, somewhat atypical traveler using the Haul Road this summer during a road-trip with my brother-in-law.
